Record Keeping and the Web

Record Keeping and the Web

I learned a few interesting aspects of business in recent meetings with Sales & Marketing folks at a few recordkeepers.  Not surprisingly, recordkeepers with a majority of business in small plans are concerned about growth.  Where will the next set of small plans come from?

In those conversations, I heard sound, proven ideas from all angles.  Ideas such as:

  • Sales executives develop plans and compensation models to reward additional prospecting.
  • Marketing creates broad industry awareness and targets distribution partners that support the firm’s growth strategy.
  • Data Analytics goes through industries, geographies, and other broad data sets to hone in on likely-to-buy prospects.

What I didn’t hear much about was the Web.  What about the Web? I thought to look at that question in two directions.

  • Post 1: the experience of an entrepreneur as he creates a short list of recordkeepers
  • Post 2: the experience at three well-regarded firms’ Web sites
